Childless not by choice? Childlessness and Suicide

Hello everyone!

Thanks for listening in to another episode of 21st Century Hannah! I appreciate it. This is actually my first ‘scheduled’ episode.  Previously I had just been posting them at will, fighting the suggestion that I should be on a schedule. But I finally gave in and decided to set a schedule.

Episodes will now be posted the second and fourth Monday of every month.  See, this is why it is important to have people in your life who actually care about you and your platform. So when I am pushing back, they are strong enough to insist without being mean or rude about it, lol.  I am so thankful for those people in my life!

Well, this episode, yes, the title sounds a little sad right? The fact is, childlessness, childless not by choice; can at times be a sad subject to discuss.  I try my very best to tell you what I truly believe in my heart: that we can and we will live a joyful and relevant life.  But the fact is, not every childless not by choice woman realizes this yet.  And unfortunately, many childless not by choice women live in a society where they are surrounded by the negativity, the blame, that this is all their fault.

Some women see no way out, except suicide. This is why I am so passionate about my platform.  I must get the word out worldwide. And you can help me by sharing my podcast with friends and family, and strangers even!

So, this episode is about the use of suicide as an option for dealing with childlessness. But I want to combat that option with my option, my message, that you, we, can live a joyful and relevant life even though childless not by choice.

I am also working on a great, free, powerpoint presentation that will be embedded on my website soon, that will take you on a journey to living a joyful and relevant life. I will let you know when the presentation goes live on my website.

Visit my website to sign up for the free monthly newsletter. Read about Hannah, listen to my previous podcast episodes. Anything you need to do to know you have other options. Email me, inbox me, talk to me. But do not consider suicide!

Childless not by Choice, Interview with Lesley Pyne

Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by once again. It is truly appreciated. In this episode, I had the great opportunity to interview United Kingdom based childless not by choice advocate Lesley Pyne.

We discussed her 10-year struggle with childlessness before coming to terms with the fact that she would not have children.

We talked about the fact that as women around the world who advocate for the childless not by choice community, this is not a competition.  We need to help where we are.

In this interview, Lesley and I discuss her becoming a Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Master Practitioner, as she traveled her road of childlessness. We talked about how NLP helped her, and how she in turn uses it to help others.

As our interview continued, we talked about whether or not NLP completely heals, and the fact that it is a great deal of help, though not necessarily something that completely helps.

We talked about how time heals to some extent, the journey through childlessness. In fact, Lesley, mentioned that she is now happy with her childlessness, which of course solicited more questions!  It was an interesting conversation. And I hope this interview is as helpful to you, as it was to me.

Thank you so much Lesley Pyne for doing what you do, where you are.

Childless not by Choice? Hang in there!

Hello everyone! Thanks so much for dropping by and listening in to this episode: Hang in there! I am excited to once again be able to encourage the childless not by woman and man!

In this episode, I also discuss facing down the monster of trauma.  Whether that trauma is finding that you are childless not by choice, or any other trauma one has been through.  I equate the monster to the storage room and basement in my childhood home! When you listen it will make sense.

I also speak to the fact that the Childless not by Choice Community does not want to be pitied.  Instead we would prefer empathy. We would also prefer that those who do have children, not assume that we have all the time in the world because we do not have children.

By the way, the intro to my podcast where I thank my sponsors and supporters, is new with this episode. I am so excited because 21st Century Hannah continues to grow and to evolve!

Thanks again for listening to 21st Century Hannah, I am thankful and humbled that you took the time to listen.

Please remember to leave me a review on iTunes! And remember to tell your friends and family about the show.

Childless not by Choice? Conversations

Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by! In this episode, I talk about the conversations I have had with various people about their journey through the world of childlessness. In particular I discuss, in general terms, a recent conversation I had.

I also thank my sponsors and supporters in this episode. This will be the first episode where their logos/links will appear at the footer of my website, https://childlessnotbychoice.net. I am so excited to be able to promote them on my website, and thankful that they trust and believe in my platform, my dream.

I also discuss the fact that it is important to seek assistance when we have been through trauma. And childlessness not by choice is trauma.  Trauma is anything bad that was unexpected and unwanted. Bottom line.  Speak to someone you trust, do not keep your thoughts and feelings bottled up. It will hurt you from the inside out.

Update for my Childless Not by Choice Podcast Listeners

Hello everyone, I hope your year has gone well! Can you believe it is almost over?! Well, this podcast episode is my way of following up with you on a personal level. It is a re-cap of 2015, and expectations for 2016, and to thank you for your support! I hope you will continue to listen and share the 21st Century Hannah content in 2016!

In this episode, I also discuss how to interact with mothers, how to deal with people who say silly things about childless women, and how to maintain your identity as a woman who is childless and or husband-less. Many times when people recognize we are single and childless, especially as we get older; they think we have no life and that we do not really have a schedule that can be imposed upon. That is not the case! In this episode I remind you that you are a family unit in and of yourself. You are NOT a second class citizen. Create a schedule and make sure people respect you and your schedule!

I would like to take this time to thank Edmund Bullock (he’s my brother-in-law) for the music you hear at the beginning and ending of my episodes. Edmund is a talented musician who comes from a very long line of talented musicians. If you would like to contact him, do so at  devotedministry@gmail.com.

Men and childlessness not by choice, my interview with Donald Brant

It was truly a great opportunity to obtain this interview with Donald Brant. This is our first ever interview where childlessness not by choice is discussed from and with a man’s point of view.

In listening to this interview you will find that although men may typically not show their emotions, they of course have the same feelings we women do. We all know there are men and women who opted not to have children. But just as there are women who wanted but could not have children, there are men who wanted but did not have children.

I believe you will find as I did, that this interview was educational on many different levels. It was quite interesting to learn about life in a different country, as well.

This interview was originally done in video form. So some of the conversation will sound like we are seeing each other, and that is because we are. I hope you will enjoy this interview.

And feel free to let me know what you think. I have posted Donald’s information below.  Below his contact information, is my information.

Thanks again for listening.  It is appreciated!

Interview, Living at my Best with Donna Woolam

Hello Everyone!

It is always such a pleasure to bring you fresh content. In this episode I had the honor to be interviewed by fellow Podcaster

Donna K. Woolam.  Mrs. Woolam is also an Author, Speaker, and Empowered Life Trainer.  It was truly an honor.

It seems that each of my interviews is quite different than the previous one. Sometimes as I am critiquing myself I see where improvement is needed, or where I left a piece of information out. But we all critique ourselves don’t we?

What I really love about this entire interview is how Donna’s questions prompt me to encourage women who are going through the same or similar circumstances. I feel like I was able to, through my experiences, help other women in similar situations, realize that it boils down to choice.  “Some days you have to hang on with your fingernails.”

I didn’t realize it until she mentioned it, that in praying for other people’s children, in pouring into my nephews when they were children, that I chose to do it. Some things you do not realize until someone else notices.

By the way, I believe what triggered me to pray again, even if not right away, was after I went to see a psychologist about the constant crying.

Well, I really hope you will enjoy this interview, and I hope you will share it with others.

It is truly an honor to know that you are listening to my show.

Blog Talk Radio Global Drive Radio Interview with Winfred Burns II, Jasmine, and Rashaad

21st Century Hannah is a series of books that I have written and am writing. It is the basis of my podcast channel, it is my platform.  In 21st Century Hannah, I talk to women like myself, who wanted but could not have children. I believe the topic of childless not by choice is a subject that is typically avoided in society, but I believe God has prompted me to start the conversation.

I have written a 31-day devotional, I am working on a 365-day devotional, and I am working on a novel about my journey through and in the world of childlessness. If you have a similar story, or you know someone who does, 21st Century Hannah is for you!

Childless not by Choice, My Interview with Traci Nichols, Manufacturer Mishaps

In 21st Century Hannah, I talk to women like myself, who wanted but could not have children. I believe the topic of childless not by choice is a subject that is typically avoided in our society.

21st Century Hannah is a series of books, it is my Podcast, it is my platform. I wrote a 31-day devotional geared toward the woman childless not by choice. I am writing a 365-day devotional of similar content, with more interaction.

If you are childless not by choice or know someone who is, 21st Century Hannah is for you!

In this episode, I interview Traci about the birth control device that ultimately caused her to become childless not by choice.  My hope is that this episode brings awareness.  Many times we think childlessness happens via physical issues.  But then we hear an episode like this one, and we realize there are many paths to childlessness not by choice.
